We have all made short term fixes but this has to be one of my best. Never thought I would see the day when I made a fix with a soup can but that is exactly what I did on my exhaust.
Anybody with a 3B knows how much they shake and this necesitates the need for some flexible exhaust tubing. If that little section isn’t there the exhaust will tear itself apart.
Unfortunately the stuff I got this time was pure junk. It didn’t last for much more than a month. So I don’t expect the can to last very long but it will let me drive to work and find a heavier grade of flexible tube to make a much longer lasting repair.
The other problem I ran into recently was the failure of the run/shutoff solenoid for my air compressor. This isn’t that big of a deal as the small tank I have holds more than enough air to run my air lockers but at the end of the day I needed the compressor for airing up tires.
Accessed my compressor to find the solenoid problem but now what? Pulled a few wires to bypass all the electronics and touched the motor wire to a power source, lo and behold it fired right off. Then all it took was my son holding the wires together and keeping an eye on the pressure gauge I have on the dash to prevent an over pressure in the system. Keeping an eye on the pressure was important because I have 200 psi compressor with parts of the system only rated at 150psi so better safe than sorry. Worked OK and got the tires filled back up.
