Just Plain Good Ideas

Little stuff you should know

Fire Extinguishers

I still remember a guy I went to high school with who had a nice looking Jeep Cherokee, this was 1996 BC (Before Cruiser). Long story short, he noticed smoke from under the hood while driving, and by the time he pulled off the road and got out, the flames started to spread and he had to watch it burn.

Hood Light

I just finished doing a full tune-up of Lilly this week, most of it done during the evening. After trying to get enough light under the hood using any combination of magnet, battery, chorded and adjustments, I thought how nice it would be to have a permanent light under the hood.

Pressurized Water

So often you’re out on the trail, or at the camp site, and need to clean your self or something off.  Sure, you can use your water jug or water bottles to clean up, but why not have some pressure behind it.  Spray that mud off your shoes, spray off some camp ware after eating, or even a quick shower.   I had seen different variations of this floating around the internet, all end up with pumping air into the container and spraying it out.  I chose this method mainly due to its simplicity.

Roof Rack Sliders

By Tony K & Eric B

Driving a wagon usually means you have a rig full of gear and people which means there is a good chance you will have need of a roof rack.  But unless you are extremely careful you put the rack at risk on frequent occaisions once you leave the pavement.  This is really a problem here in the tree heavy Northwest where I live and wheel.

Who’s Rig is That?

Not sure I ever drove my rig this way before, sans roof rack.  But the need arose when I had to get into the parking garage at the Seattle Airport parking garage….
