Wheeling with a Fridge

You just may get a chuckle out of the fact that there is a Fridge in the back of my wagon.  But I can guarantee that all it would take is one wheeling trip on a hot day and you will want to know where you can get one.  That’s exactly what happened with two of my fellow wheelers.

My Fridge is an 80qt model, made by Waeco.  It will run on 12 or 24V and with an adapter 120VAC as well.   The best part about this thing is that I no longer have to keep adding ice or put up with warm stuff as the end of a multiday trip.  Just on the drive to Rubicon this summer I lost count of how many times Don put ice in his cooler.  And it not only cools stuff, if you really had to it will freeze it as well.

Doesn’t use a whole lot of power either, doesn’t even come close to draining the batteries overnight.  And even though it has 7 settings, I have never had to turn it past 3 to keep things cool.

While it may seem like a luxury it really isnt.  While it was easy to justify the espense for long trips, it has been more than worthwhile on day trips when the thermometer is pegged out.
