Road Trips and Trail Stories
All the places we go and all the lies about what happened once we got there
Cruise the Woods 2011

By Tony K (Sooz took all the pictures except the last one which is another great one by Ken Eshelby)
Well another CTW has come and gone. And once again it was a great time and worth every bit of effort to get there. We couldn’t have asked for nicer weather either. Even though the rain was starting to come down as we packed up to leave, it quit about an hour into the drive south. Thankfully there was no rain while we set up camp.
Walker Valley Workparty

I am a strong proponent of putting your back, legs and other muscles where your mouth is. No point in me advocating doing volunteer work if I don’t participate myself. So off to the woods I went. My son Caleb joined me as well as Darby from our club. Darby had found out that there are work parties at our local ORV park on the second Saturday of each month and since nothing seemed to be happening this month it was the perfect time to jump in with both feet, back, hands etc.
The McGrew Trail 2011

If you have never been to the McGrew Trail it is well worth the time and effort to get there. I had seen the sign up sheets for the McGrew Trail run for years and finally decided to make the trip down to Southern Oregon to join some fellow cruiserheads in the woods. This almost 24 mile trail runs through the aftermath of the Biscuit Fire, apparently the largest in Oregon’s history. Way different than the trees of the Northwest I am used to.
Canadians at Walker
Posted on May 20th, 2011
Been trying for a long time to get some Canadian friends down our way to go wheeling for awhile now. And as the saying goes, when it rains it pours. Literally, the rain up our way has been nonstop for what seems like months now. Normally the rain doesn’t seem to matter to me but this year it just hasn’t stopped.
Easter Run
Posted on April 25th, 2011
Well not exactly an organized run, just myself enjoying the outdoors. First went to one of the state parks to try out their bike trails, went well. Hadn’t rode my mountain bike in a while so it was good to get back on it and do some trail riding. Made up a bike carrier attachment for my swing out carrier as well, so I got to try that out. It worked out well, need to tweek a few things and then call it good.
